Generation Investment Management, an investment firm co-founded by Al Gore, has announced a new fund that will go to businesses and teams driving a sustainable future. This will include companies that help reduce emissions, increase financial inclusion and create more accessible healthcare.
The $36 billion company founded in 2004 by Al Gore and David Blood will dedicate $1.7 billion to investing in planetary health, people’s health and financial inclusion.
Running away from fossil fuels is nothing new for Generation Investment. They warned that the financial sector is running out of time to invest in sustainable energy and move away from large emitters of greenhouse gases.
Gore is a lifelong climate activist, and the famous 2006 documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” follows his campaign to educate people about global warming.

Generation’s $1.7 billion Sustainable Solutions Fund IV will be invested in growing businesses that help reduce emissions, make health care more accessible, support financial inclusion and reduce inequality.
Lila Preston, Head of Growth Equities at Generation Investment Management, said: “We seek out the changes needed for a sustainable future and invest in pioneering companies that have been driving this transition for over 15 years. Our systems-level view helps us identify industries, companies and entrepreneurs who can deploy sustainable solutions globally. We believe it helps us see value where others don’t and add value where others can’t. »
It’s amazing to see these people with a platform tackling climate change and driving businesses that help us towards a sustainable future, without pulling us away.
