Hisar: The Extension Directorate of the University of Animal and Veterinary Sciences Lala Lajpat Rai organized a sensitization camp for villagers on foot-and-mouth disease in animals. In recent years, Haryana has experienced an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among cattle. The main cause of the spread of infection is direct contact with sick animals, infected food, water and the clothes, shoes and hands of the caregiver.

Don among the best scientists

Faridabad: Dr Smita S Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, was featured in the list of ‘Top 2% Scientists in world ”in the field of environmental sciences and biotechnology. The list was prepared by Stanford University. Each year, the university publishes data for the top 2% of researchers in the world based on their research publications. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dinesh Kumar praised Dr Smita for bringing laurels to the university with his outstanding research work.

Atal DIY lab has started

Ambala: Atal Tinkering Lab was inaugurated at Tulsi Pulic High School, Hisar Road, Ambala City, by Naresh Chopra, President of the Retired Engineers Welfare Association. HB Munjal, President of the Tulsi Group, officially welcomed all the guests. The occasion was also graced by Abhishek of Atal Innovation Mission, who provided a three-day training course to staff and students of the school.

Hisar: Professor Narsi Ram Bishnoi of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology was recognized in the database of 2% of the world’s most influential scientists for its research performance in 2020 in the database prepared annually by scientists at Stanford University and published by Elsevier.

An NSS volunteer shines

Yamunanagar: The Indian Government’s Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the NSS North Zone Pre-Republican Parade Camp at Biyani College of Science and Management, Kalwad, Jaipur. In the camp, Meenakshi Kant of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, a promising NSS volunteer, brought laurels to the college by participating. Principal Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang said that Kant represented Kurukshetra University at the national level camp.

Thali-décor competition organized

Yamunanagar: Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri held contests for thali decorating, candle decorating and rangoli making. The program was hosted by Prof. Seema Jain, head of the college’s commercial arts department. Principal Dr PK Bajpai inspired the participants to take an active part in such a competition.
