Belleville Area Humane Society (BAHS) recently removed a female dog from a local animal control and named her Betty White, in honor of the late Betty White, an animal enthusiast known for her charity work and advocacy. animals.

Puppy Betty White gave birth to eight healthy babies late last week. Betty White is now in a foster home where her adoptive parents shower her with love and affection. Betty will nurse and care for her Golden Pups for the next eight to 10 weeks before she and the puppies are available for adoption.

BAHS relies on foster care volunteers to support Betty White the puppy and many other foster animals and is a vital part of the work of the Belleville Area Humane Society. Foster homes increase the Belleville Area Humane Society’s ability to save lives by preserving shelter space for other pets in need. Foster families also improve the quality of life for every pet they rescue. Foster homes help the most vulnerable animals in need. Puppies, kittens and animals recovering from illness or injury get a second chance at life when members of the community choose to become foster parents.

The Belleville Area Humane Society works hard to facilitate foster care. As foster volunteers, individuals work with dedicated canine and feline foster coordinators to get everything they need to be successful – food, medicine, pet supplies, information and resources, as well as a individual support.
