CORNING, NY (WETM) – The Corning community and their pets have embraced the Halloween theme in the form of a fundraiser. Corning residents gathered their fur babies in style to celebrate Howl-O-Ween happy hour. The event was sponsored by Corning Credit Union and Iron Flamingo Brewery.

The Halloween Themed Pet Celebration is not just about raising money for the Humane Society, but also raising awareness of how people can help the Chemung County SPCA as they go. ‘strive to help local animals.

“Every dollar from every beer purchased goes directly to the Chemung County SPCA. We have raffles with Corning Credit Union, we have 50/50 raffles, ”said Jaime Wolf, media relations coordinator for the Chemung County SPCA.

Now that the event has garnered support from the local community, the plan is to make it an annual fundraiser.

“We would love to make this an annual event, for sure, the more support we can get, the more people will go out, drink beers, save money and save animals,” said Ben Mauer, chief brewer. at the Iron Flamingo brewery

While there were no adoptable animals on-site for this event, the Chemung County Humane Society and the SPCA could still use your help to provide a home for the animals as the winter months approach.
