SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) – An Eagle Scout collects donations for the Happy Paws Animal Shelter in Santa Rosa County.

Nicolas Salazar, a student at Pace High School, worked with Eagle Scout Troop 400 to obtain items that the Happy Paws Refuge desperately needs, according to a press release from the Santa Rosa County Public Information Office.

The necessary elements are:

  • Wet / dry food for dogs and cats
  • Wet / dry food for puppies and kittens
  • Kitten formula
  • Toys
  • Treats for dogs and cats
  • Beds
  • Blankets
  • Non-clumping litter
  • Pill pouches for dogs and cats
  • Disposable bowls
  • Flat sheets

Donations can be dropped off at these locations:

  • Santa Rosa County Animal Services, 4451 Pine Forest Road in Milton
  • Santa Rosa County Administrative Complex, 6495 Caroline Street in Milton
  • Supply of tractors, 6531 Caroline Street in Milton
  • Petco, 1670 Boulevard de l’Aeroport in Pensacola
  • Alyssa’s, 4586 Chumuckla Highway in Pace
    Nicolas will be at Alyssa’s on Saturday October 16 at a kiosk to help raise awareness at the animal shelter and to collect donations in person. A donation box will stay with Alyssa until November 19

Adoption fees are currently waived for dogs during Adopt a Shelter Dog month, the release said.
