On Saturday, July 23, Midcoast Humane will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration for its new animal shelter in Brunswick. The inauguration will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the official opening will take place at 11 a.m. at the new facilities at 5 Industrial Parkway.

Construction of the facility was completed in early June and the shelter animals were moved in mid-June. Now, Midcoast Humane looks forward to celebrating this significant achievement with community members and supporters. The modern new facility is a substantial step forward for animal welfare in Maine and includes improvements to water access, drainage systems, soils, sanitation, acoustics, ventilation, etc. to promote the health and well-being of shelter clients. Plus, guest animals get low-stress housing, extra living space, and comfortable spaces to meet adopters. The large flexible space is ideal for hosting a variety of programs and professional training sessions to help keep pets in their homes.

The grand opening is an opportunity for community members and animal lovers to see the new facility, meet adoptable animals, learn about animal shelters in Maine, and enjoy an event family. It will feature activities for kids, a Rollin’ Smoke food truck, dog kissing booth, raffle, adoptable animals, facility tours and more.
