JACKSON, MI – The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two.

# 13 is a solid black cat with bright orange eyes. She arrived with 42 other cats from a hoarding situation and is the first to greet you with lots of paw kneading and purring. # 13 is recovering from hair loss and gaining weight. She needs a loving home.

Osiris is a 9 year old tan and white American Staffordshire mix who arrived wandering. He’s a big guy and he’s pretty slow and sweet. There is no barking and no hopping because Osiris is just enjoying a good nap. If you are looking for that kind of seasoned, calm dog who doesn’t bother me much, Osiris is your guy.

A meeting with a dog is compulsory. A visit to the cat room is available to test the reaction. The dog adoption fee is $ 150 for medium and large dogs and $ 250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip, and sterilization.

The cat adoption fee is $ 60 for one cat, $ 80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccines, and sterilization.

It’s always best to visit the shelter, but other adoption resources include online apps at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, by faxing 517-780-4750 or by emailing [email protected]

The shelter’s current opening hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
