JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two.

Bella is a possible mix of 8 year old solid black Labrador Retriever and Shar Pei. One of his eyes is blue and the other is brown. This mature lady is home trained, knows basic commands and is super friendly. She’s not cat-crazy and selective with her dog friends, but she’s friendly and likes to walk on a leash.

Liz is a 3 year old calico cat with big golden eyes. This spicy girl is like a fat kitten. She is curious, adventurous and courageous. One minute she’s purring and the next minute she wants to struggle. Liz prefers to be the only cat in your house. After having a litter of kittens, she is looking for her forever home. Liz was fully sponsored, so her adoption is free.

An encounter with a dog is mandatory. A guided chat room tour is available to test the reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchipping and neutering.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccines, and neutering.

It’s always best to visit the shelter, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animalsby faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing [email protected]
